Hallelujah!

I have lights. I have air conditioning. I have television. I have refrigeration. I have a washer and dryer. I have a stove. I have an alarm. I have happiness. I have electricity.

Still without electric...

...but not complaining. Granted, being without electric isn't too much fun. However, after watching Katrina and the battle of New Orleans, I ain't complaining. My boys are fine and we still have a home and all of our possessions.

Katrina has taught me a valuable lesson and given me a new resolve to come up with a hurricane plan. I don't want to get wiped out when the big one hits Fort Lauderdale...and sooner or later she will come calling.

She was a hurricane

Katrina snuck up on South Florida and turned into a category 1 hurricane at the last minute. No one I know expected it to be this bad (I first heard of Katrina on Wednesday and it struck on Thursday). I only decided to return home yesterday at 5pm when the sign at the restaurant where I was eating blew off. 3 hours later I lost electricity at my home and here I still sit...sweating, waiting, bored, wondering how many more SoFl will have to endure and what in the heck are we going to do if we get a cat 5?

Waiting for Katrina

Katrina's on her way. Will she be a tropical storm or a hurricane? Liger and Bell are waiting to see.
